Flashy, fierce, and funthat's Terrance Mitchell in a
nutshell.
The photos in this collection range from the austere to the
wildly outrageous. They were taken in one long and enjoyable day when Terrance
had been scheduled for a competition that had suddenly been canceled.
In addition to some straightforward bodybuilding photos, many
are compositional exercises combining of brightly colored backgrounds with
Terrance's figure. They were all fun to take.
Terrance, who has only been bodybuilding for two and a half
years, and who recently earned his certification through the NGA, has one
important bit of advice for the beginning bodybuilder"Train your brain."
By this he means that the beginning bodybuilder should take special steps to
learn as much as possible about bodybuilding and nutrition.
Terrance is "natural." He has never used steroids and feels
that "natural" is the only way to go. He also warns beginning bodybuilders not
to be confused by supplements. The supplement makers, he warns, are in business
primarily to make money, and much that is bogus is hyped to bodybuilders who
haven't taken the trouble to educate themselves. Nothing can substitute for
plain nutritious food built around good-quality protein , clean complex
carbohydrates, lots of water, rest, and recuperation, and that's what a
bodybuilder should concentrate on.
Terrance was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on November 24, 1965. He
lives and works out in Lemoore, California. He trains his clients at local
gyms.
One of the things you notice right away about Terrance is that
he is a very people-oriented individual. He tries not to be judgemental
because, he notes, everyone has a background of experiences, and sometimes
these may not match what the rest of us have been through.
He emphasizes the importance of spirituality in life. He likes
the outdoors, thunderstorms and rain, tornadoes (perhaps more to watch from a
distance or in a movie than actually to experience), and untamed nature.
He attended Ohio University, first majoring in journalism, then
changing to University College, where one was allowed more or less to create
one's own major. At University College, he majored in Alternative Education for
the Arts, which combined backstage experience with acting, sound and lighting,
and general theater management.
What are his interests in life besides bodybuilding? Dancing,
reading, music, painting watercolors, and writing, especially writing
poetry.
You can see from these photos that he enjoys being outrageous,
wild, hot, and sexy. "That's just what I like," he says.
