We'll make a prediction—you're going to see and hear a lot more about J. R. in the bodybuilding world. He's one of the better contestants we've seen in local competitions. The Silver and Black Natural Bodybuilding Competition, put on by Kakos Productions, in Oakland, California, was J. R.'s fourth competition. He has been bodybuilding now for six years.

The photos of J. R. above were taken on September 26, 1998, under two different types of lighting conditions. The warmer, ruddier photos were lit only by stage lights. The others, in which J. R,'s skin color is more accurately shown, were taken with supplemental flash.
